Choose camera Scan, Type, or Browse to open an asset from a phone or desktop browser.

Before you start

Role needed: any signed-in member. Ask an Owner if an action is unavailable.

Open Scan

Sign in to OrbitEquip and choose Scan. The page has three tabs: Scan, Type, and Browse.

Use the camera when it is available

Choose Scan and allow the browser to use the camera when prompted. Hold the asset's OrbitEquip QR label or supported Existing Barcode inside the camera area.

Switch methods when scanning is inconvenient

Choose Type to enter a QR code or barcode value. Choose Browse to search asset names, serial numbers, Existing Barcodes, or QR codes; select the matching result.

Use Type when you can read an identifier but cannot scan it.
Browse searches by asset name, serial number, Existing Barcode, or QR code.

Troubleshooting

The camera tab cannot start.

Check: Check browser camera permission and whether another app is using the camera.

Fix: Allow camera access or use Type or Browse instead.
