Any signed-in member

Use a manufacturer barcode as a second lookup value while OrbitEquip QR remains the primary OrbitEquip label.

Before you start

Role needed: any signed-in member. Ask an Owner if an action is unavailable.

1

Open Scan

Choose Scan in the app navigation. Use the camera when it can read the barcode, or switch to Type.

Example phone-browser state where the browser cannot find a camera; Type and Browse remain available.
2

Enter or scan the value

In Type, enter the value stored in the asset's Existing Barcode field. In Browse, search by the barcode or select its asset result.

Use Type when you can read an identifier but cannot scan it.
Browse searches by asset name, serial number, Existing Barcode, or QR code.
3

Review the matching asset

Confirm the result is the intended tool before checking it out or in. If the value is not found, ask an Owner or Admin to compare it with the asset's Existing Barcode field.

This scan result is ready for a check-out. The sample asset is synthetic.

Tips

Keep in mind
