Use Type or Browse When You Cannot Scan

You can reach an asset result without starting the camera.

Open an asset without camera access by entering its code or searching the organization inventory.

Before you start

Role needed: any signed-in member. Ask an Owner if an action is unavailable.

Choose Type for a code you can read

Open Scan and choose Type. Enter the QR code or Existing Barcode value, then submit the lookup.

Choose Browse when you know asset details

Choose Browse and search by asset name, serial number, Existing Barcode, or QR code. The first 40 results are shown before narrowing the search; select the right asset.

Continue from the authenticated result

Confirm the result is the correct asset, then choose Check out or Check in as needed.

Tips

Troubleshooting

Browse returns too many similar tools.

Check: Look for a serial number, barcode value, or other distinguishing detail.

Fix: Add that text to the Browse search or compare the result details before continuing.
