- No. OrbitEquip runs in a phone browser, so crews can open the scan page without downloading a native app. Check-in and check-out still require the appropriate account access.
Does OrbitEquip track tools with GPS?
- No. OrbitEquip uses QR scans, assigned locations, and current-holder records. It does not continuously locate a tool or automatically report its physical position. If continuous GPS tracking is required, OrbitEquip is not the right fit today.
Can OrbitEquip manage consumables or stock quantities?
- No. OrbitEquip focuses on individually tracked reusable tools and equipment, not quantity-based stock, consumables, or low-stock management.
What if a QR label is damaged or a camera won't read it?
- Every tool has a short code you can type manually, and the scan hub also supports search and browse fallback. If a label is too worn, print a new one.
Can I import the spreadsheet I already have?
- Yes. Add tools manually on any plan, or import a CSV spreadsheet on paid plans. Columns such as name, category, location, serial number, and status can be mapped during import.
How do I get my crew on board?
- Invite team members by email and assign owner, admin, or worker roles. OrbitEquip uses an unlimited-user model, so plans do not charge per seat.
What actually shows up in the history for a tool?
- Each check-out and check-in records who performed it and when. Maintenance issues, photos, status changes, and resolutions are recorded with the tool's history.
