Cannot Check Out an Asset

The team records a valid checkout or identifies the record that must be corrected first.

Any signed-in member

Check the asset status, current assignment, maintenance state, and sign-in before retrying.

Before you start

Role needed: any signed-in member. Ask an Owner if an action is unavailable.

1

Confirm the correct asset and your sign-in

Open the asset through Scan, Type, or Browse and make sure the signed-in member is in the organization.

This scan result is ready for a check-out. The sample asset is synthetic.
2

Review its current status

Check whether the asset is already Checked Out or in Maintenance. An asset with an open assignment must be checked in before a new checkout; an asset blocked for maintenance must be made available by an Owner or Admin.

Example asset detail header. QR artwork and account profile information are outside the crop.
3

Retry after the record is correct

If the tool is available, choose Check out and enter the intended holder. Add a return due date only when one has been agreed.

Tips

Troubleshooting

The asset should be available but still appears blocked.

Check: Refresh the asset detail and review its open assignment and unresolved maintenance record.

Fix: Have an Owner or Admin correct the record before trying again.
