How to Check In a Tool in OrbitEquip

The open assignment closes and the return becomes part of the asset's history.

Close the current assignment when a tool is returned to your team.

Before you start

Role needed: any signed-in member. Ask an Owner if an action is unavailable.

Scan or look up the asset

Open Scan and scan the OrbitEquip QR or use Type or Browse. Verify that the result shows the tool being returned.

Choose Check in

Select Check in on the asset result and confirm the action if asked. OrbitEquip records the return and closes the current assignment.

Review the updated record

The result confirms Checked in. If the tool moved to a different storage place, have an Owner or Admin update its Location on the asset record.
