Owner or Admin

Set up a reliable source file before importing or sharing an asset export.

Before you start

Role needed: Owner or Admin. Ask an Owner if an action is unavailable.

1

Keep one tool per row

Use one row for each asset and one header row for the column names. Include Name. Add only the optional fields you intend to keep: Category, Location, Status, Notes, Serial Number, and Existing Barcode.

Example column mapping only. The import was not submitted.
2

Normalize shared values

Use consistent category and location names. Check that barcode values are unique within the organization and that each serial number stays with the right asset.

3

Review file size and formulas

Stay within 5,000 rows per import. Before sharing an exported CSV, review spreadsheet formula cells and use a trusted copy of the file. Do not treat CSV as a backup of photos or private QR tokens.

Synthetic sample assets illustrate the filters; names and serials are test data.
