Follow one simple path from your first sign-in to a completed tool handoff.
Before you start
No special role or plan requirement is listed for this guide.
Sign in and orient yourself
OrbitEquip keeps a shared record for reusable tools through identify → assign → return → detect overdue → maintain → physically verify → report. Your crew can use the current QR workflow from a phone browser without installing a native app. Create an account or sign in at app.orbitequip.com. If you created a new account, follow the confirmation email before signing in. The Dashboard is the first place to review setup prompts and operational summaries.
Create the places and groups your crew uses
Open Locations to add places such as a shop, van, or jobsite. Open Categories to add practical groups such as Power Tools or Ladders. Owners and Admins can manage both.
Add a tool or import a prepared list
Open Assets → Add Asset to enter a tool, or choose Import to open Import Assets and map a spreadsheet. Add a name; category, location, serial number, Existing Barcode, one primary photo, and notes are optional.
Print and apply the OrbitEquip label
Open Labels, find the asset, and print its label. Attach the label where it can be found and scanned. Keep the OrbitEquip QR as the OrbitEquip identifier; an existing manufacturer barcode can be stored separately.
Invite your crew and try the field workflow
Open Team and invite a Worker or Admin. On a phone browser, open Scan, scan the label or find the asset with Type or Browse, then check it out. Scan again to check it back in.
